“We Can Rise” was born out of a deep conversation with a friend that really impacted me. If there was ever a time to envision a humane existence, it is right now.
Something special happened in studio with this one that I can’t explain.
The team on the record is a dream come true, featuring my bandmates from our last record, as well as touring members of Canadian artists City and Colour and Andy Shauf. And Scott Smith plays the electric on We Can Rise! The song was produced in collaboration with JUNO Award-winning engineers Elisa Pangsaeng and Erik Nielsen in Vancouver BC.

The making of the Coming Home EP is revealed in this interview with La Session probably better than any words I could write here. It has been a wild year of perseverance, and everything has brought the new record to life! This winter was spent mostly in Montreal and in Vermont, learning French, braving the cold, debuting songs from the new record at showcases, getting to know the music communities out here, and getting ready to release the new album! It has been an amazing and intense challenge learning French alone. Couple that with EP release prep, navigating a new region, the times, and I must say some days have been a roller-coaster ride and others deeply inspiring. December brought me back to B.C. where I fell in love with my home region again, and then back in love with Montreal again in the new year.
I am elated to share this new record with you, starting with “We Can Rise.”
