Berlin, you have my heart.
My heart will never be the same now that I have been touched by the city of Berlin. Last February was truly a time I will remember for the rest of my life. And little did we know that we would be entering the named “Vegetarian Capital of the World.”
The show at Speiches Rock and Blues Kneipe in Berlin was mind-blowing. With a packed house for the entire evening, and one of the most enthusiastic crowds we have come across, I came to the understanding that Europeans, and Germans are practiced at appreciating music – it must be part of their culture. I am thrilled that this show even came through and I think my Grandma (who is German) had something to do with this – she passed away recently and I am convinced she must have helped make the shows happen.
Thank you everyone from coming from different parts of Germany, and friends we met that week. It meant the world.
A big thank you to incredible local drummer Todd James for stepping up to plate and rocking it as my bandmate on the set. Counting the days til we meet again Berlin!
And to top it off – Taylor Guitars, what a great company. Beyond grateful for our partnership and for their commitment to ethically-sourced wood. They backlined an 814ce Taylor Guitar for the shows and what a gem she(/he) was! A close relative to the 712ce I usually play!
The presence of love and kindness was very strong in Germany and I am grateful to have met you.
Til next time!
Here are some pics from the show and from roaming around the city!
