More on “L’amour partout”

My dad since I was about 8 grew up hearing French, and speaking French with his mom. He has inspired me to learn French! I still have a long way to go toward being fluent – this song is a start though!

The story of “L’amour partout” began in Victoria, British Columbia—where I grew up and Matt Stern’s current home. Matt and I met at the JagaSilk Musical Tea events in Victoria. I am so grateful for his translation tips! Here is a beautiful note on the song from Aki Media!

“This is the second track from Coming Home, Sister Speak’s five-song acoustic EP that highlights her melodic sensibility and perspective as a peace-driven artist…

The song draws on the original melody from “Love for All,” the title
track of Sister Speak’s 2022 Love for All album. Its gentle, almost lullaby-like melody
reminds us to love who we are, to love our neighbours, and to love Mother Earth.

Though this is her fourth studio project, Coming Home represents a true creative
homecoming. “Fans have been asking me to make an acoustic album for years, and
coming home to Victoria after living in California helped me reconnect with a very
vulnerable part of my heart,” says Sherri Anne. “The acoustic guitar helps me connect with the melodic side of songwriting in a way that feels natural and spontaneous. Love is the ingredient that binds us. At the end of the day we are all on the same team.” Sherri Anne is joined on the track by a familiar face to French-Canadian audiences: Montréal native Matt Stern, now living in Victoria. “I grew up in Victoria, BC and now live in Montréal; for Matt it’s the opposite. So you could say this song really connects the West Coast and the East!” says Sherri Anne.

The track was mastered by Brock MacFarlane, whose work delivers a rich acoustic palette that supports Sister Speak’s warm, sincere vocal and intimate guitar arrangements.” -Aki Media

LYRIC FEATURE:
“Le jour sera baigné de lueur. We’ll find the water, turn it blue.”

The team on the record is a dream come true, featuring my bandmates from our last record, as well as Erik Nielsen, Dave Joseph, Scott Smith, and Graham Vincent Jones, touring members of some of my favourite Canadian artists, like City and Colour, Andy Shauf and Yukon Blonde. “L’amour partout” was co-produced by Stephen Haaker and Brett Grossman in collaboration with Elisa Pangsaeng (French language vocal production) and mastered at CPS.

If you can find a moment to share the release, it would mean the world! Here is the direct links:
