More on “The Coming Home EP”
Rooted in the landscapes of British Columbia and having inspired a deep dive into her family heritage, Coming Home is a five-song acoustic EP by Sister Speak, the project of BC alt-folk artist Sherri Anne Nyberg. With heartfelt lyrics, melodic fingerstyles, and lush harmonies, and written entirely by Nyberg, Coming Home is “a true musical home-coming.” (Aki Media).
As many of you know, I grew up in British Columbia, Canada and am currently spending time in Montreal learning French, in honour of my Dadβs Quebec heritage. The music video for Coming Home was filmed on Vancouver Island, where my mom and biological father were born and I spent my early childhood. The Coming Home EP was recorded mainly at Afterlife Studios in Vancouver, with Juno-Award winning engineers Elisa Pangsaeng, Erik Nielsen, and Brock McFarlane, shaping the project’s warm, organic sound. L’amour partout was mixed and co-produced by Stephen Haaker and Brett Grossman from the Love For All album π
